Karen Kei is an independent art creator who grew up in the United States as a child and returned to Hong Kong after graduating from college. She was a senior manager in a well-known international company. Because of her passion for artistic creation, she gave up high-paying positions in 2014 to invest in the art of humanoid dolls, creating unique humanoid dolls in just a few years. In 2017, she released the first character Yoyi & Jr.W and founded the art toy brand Monster Mind. 

In 2018, she created the character WANEE, and interpreted the contradiction between the real and the dream world through artistic techniques such as hand-painting.
